care
St. Luke’s Hospital Group provides unique and comprehensive hospital based care for people with a learning disability and / or mental health needs within a 'complex care' environment.

For many years the health care needs of people with Mental Illness and Learning Disabilities have been caught up in the uncertainties and shortfalls between mental health and learning disability services. Our hospitals have been established to redress this imbalance in healthcare provision. We provide high quality care, calling upon the skills of a specialist multidisciplinary team experienced in dealing with patients with Mental Illness or Learning Disabilities.

We believe in the right of our patients to appropriate care and treatment that addresses their individual mental and physical health issues and challenging behaviour, whilst exploring both their emotional and sexual needs within an appropriately staffed therapeutic environment.

All patients being treated at any of our hospitals have their care programmes guided by the principles of choice, decision making, empowerment and promotion. In addition we afford all individuals respect, courtesy and dignity. Patients have the opportunity to be involved in the planning and implementation of care unless there are good reasons to decide otherwise. St. Luke's Hospital Group has its own patients’charter.
