Once a referral is accepted by St. Luke’s, the admissions process is swift and straightforward:

1. After a referral is made, a consultant psychiatrist will contact referrers promptly to discuss the patient's needs. Members of our assessment team will then make a visit within 48 hours of referral, although in urgent cases the visit will take place on the same day.
2. Apart from out of hours referrals for urgent cases, patients will be admitted to the unit between the hours of 10.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
3. On admission, patients will be assigned to work alongside a nurse co-ordinator.
4. Each patient will have clearly identified goals outlined in their care plan. These will be reviewed regularly.
5. Care is patient-focused with an emphasis on allowing patients to lead their own lives with the security of knowing that help and support is available.
