Once a referral is accepted by St. Luke’s, the admissions process is swift and straightforward:
- After a referral is made, a consultant psychiatrist will contact referrers promptly to discuss the patient's needs. Members of our assessment team will then make a visit within 48 hours of referral, although in urgent cases the visit will take place on the same day.
- Apart from out of hours referrals for urgent cases, patients will be admitted to the unit between the hours of 10.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
- On admission, patients will be assigned to work alongside a nurse co-ordinator.
- Each patient will have clearly identified goals outlined in their care plan. These will be reviewed regularly.
- Care is patient-focused with an emphasis on allowing patients to lead their own lives with the security of knowing that help and support is available.
